image Palomarin Chamber Music Foundation has been operating since 1996, when it was granted its 501(c) (3) status.

Our mission is both charitable and educational, to further musical education of the community through workshops and classes, to provide scholarships for musicians, and to present concerts.

In the course of the past thirteen years, Palomarin has presented many public concerts throughout California, among them performances at the Manteca Friends of Chamber Music Series and at Holy Names College in Oakland.

It has also sponsored numerous concerts at retirement centers including The Tamalpais in Greenbrae, The Redwoods in Mill Valley, The Sequoia in San Francisco, Rossmoor in Walnut Creek, and Piedmont Gardens and St. Paulšs Towers in Oakland.

Other activities of the foundation include classes and chamber music workshops, some of which include: Chamber music workshops at the Ralston White Retreat, and morning classes once or twice a week in string techniques, which involve primarily senior citizens. No one is turned away from our workshops and classes because of inability to pay, although our scholarship budget is quite limited.

Burke Schuchmann is the Artistic Director of the Palomarin Chamber Music Foundation.
